Hey guys, I was up in Gettysburg last weekend for the parade and posted my gallery on my site. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind checking them out and seeing if you recognize any of your friends (or yourself) here and let me know so I can caption the photo properly and give them credit. I hope you enjoy the photos! http://www.virtualcivilwar.com Thank you very much for your help! Mike

I am not sure why it isn't working......you can manually type in my site too, there is the big link on the front page of the site.... http://www.virtualcivilwar.com I hope you can get the link to work, I just clicked it and it opened up fine for me. But if it doesn't open, just type it in the address bar and the page will open for you. Mike

Didn't see very many pics of Southern Units. Of course when it is in Gettysburg it kinds goes without saying that there will be more federal units there. I wander how many units from the South were there. It is knda like having a parade down here in the South not, very many Federal units. Of course it is fun trying to listen to the hard Northern accents coming from troops dressed in gray. I am sure it is weird coming from the other, with Southern boys protryaing troops from Brooklyn. I am not sure that I agree.....I think I showed about an equal amount of Southern Units in my gallery as I showed Northern. I just counted and I have 19 rows of Northern photos, and 17 rows of Southern units. I felt the south had a good representation at the parade. I have also attended parades here in VA, and I agree with your observation that there are not many Northern units....but I definetly feel that the South was properly represented up in Gettysburg during the parade. The pictures look good Mike. I know you did in fact hve equal numders represented. I apologize for the coment. I didn't mean to cry " why is there more of them than us." My compliments to the guys up the North. You won't get that many guys down here in Blue for a parade. Now,not saying that there will not be any dressed, but the numbers wil be slim. I went to your website and found it very appealing.

Mike, Your pictures are great. It's good to see friends that I haven't seen since I moved to GA. General Grant is Tony Daniels ( a former teacher at Jackson High School, Jackson, NJ). The Sgt. leading the 54th Ma is Fred Minus from Trenton, NJ. I will try to remember some of the other from the 54th. Actually they are with the 3rd & 6th USCT. All great people and friends. Capt. Middleton CO D 9th NJ

Just to let you know. I held a Remembrance Weekend at Pickett's Mill, just outside Dallas, GA as I couldn't get up to Gettysburg this year. We even had President Lincoln appear. We had only 15 Federal soldiers the first day, and on the second day, we got 4 more to show up. The 4 were from the Home Guard of GA and were worried about how their friends would feel about being at a Remembrance affair. Too bad they can't see how you Southerns went up to Gettysburg to help celebrate. It brings recognition to all. Glad you could make there. Captain Middleton
