There is a very interesting discussion going on at Sam Wheeler's LincolnStudies discussion board about C.A. Tripp's thesis that Lincoln was gay. It stems from a guest post by Lewis Gannett, who was one of many who worked with Tripp on the book. I would urge all of you to go there and read it.

You can get there by going to http://www.lincolnstudies.com/

Even though reasonable people can disagree, this is a topic that isn't going away.

Best
Rob

Super stuff, Rob. Will come back to it later tonight when I have time to read it and savor every moment.

Thanks.

My complaint is every time I see one of these serious discussions about Lincoln being Gay... I start following links and find myself at a gay porn site. Won't even look anymore.

An interesting diversion, but I'm afraid I fall into the 'struggle to care' camp. Unless someone can provide examples where he can point to hypocrisy in this matter it doesn't really alter any assessment of Lincoln's time in office.

Johan - yeah, that could be awkward. Rest assured, the link above is 'forgetting-to-clear-the-browser-history-safe'.
