I detect in many Civil War postings in this forum, a defensive stance against open discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of southern thinking and actions. It is as if the goal is to protect the supposed nobility of the southern cause.

For example, my comments that suggest that secession was NOT he right thing to do or was NOT entirely justified are dismissed and/or ridiculed.

Jubal Early did a great job at foistering the Lost Cause on us....it still lives on! I like almost everybody on here but I'd say the majority are pro-South.  The Civil War still carries heated passion on both sides. I've learned a lot on this site. So toughen up your skin and hang in there!
