I may be telling some of you something you already know, but there's a fantastic Civil War resource out there that not a whole lot of people know about. The Combined Arms Research Library (CARL) out of Fort Leavenworth has loads of scholarly Civil War articles that are top-notch. Most are in PDF format. Here's some highlights (after clicking any of the links, look for the "Access this item" link near the top-center).Some of these are very long and may take some time to load depending on your connection:

Analysis of the relationship between technology and strategy and how they shaped the Confederate States Navy.

Analysis of unit cohesion in the 42nd Alabama Infantry.

Analysis of unit cohesion in the 44th Georgia Infantry.

Appropriate treatment of head injuries by surgeons during the Civil War.

Battle of Hampton Roads: a revolution in military affairs.

Blame game: federal intelligence operations during the Chickamauga Campaign.

Brigadier General Jefferson C. Davis: Civil War general.

Cavalry in the Shenandoah Valley Campaign of 1862: effective, but inefficient.

Well you get the idea. There's loads more. The best way to find it is to go to this page, and enter Civil War in the "Exact Phrase" field. Enjoy!

I for one was unaware of this site. Thanks for posting. The entire site looks to be a treasure trove of information. I've bookmarked it and will no doubt be visiting it on a regular basis.

Thanks Joe!

The thesis on the 42nd Alabama is of particular intrest; a whole chapter devoted to Corinth.
