Folks:
Even as we continue completion of the new CWi site, I thought I'd drop a little tease as to what our newest project is. It's actually been going on behind the scenes for quite a while, but very hush-hush. Here's some clues:
- It's historical in nature, but not specific to the Civil War.
- It's inspired by one section of CWi.
- It will span over three centuries in subject matter.
- It will premiere in 6 -8 weeks

Ole,
Had to spend a few days "recovering". Once we reach a certain age, we're not used to being scared sh**-less. That was what Tuesday night was.
Took me about a week, to fix up the damage here (roof, well house, some trees down), but all in all, very minor. Wednesday we drove to Union University in Jackson (20 miles away) to see if we could volunteer our help in any way. The campus was practically destroyed but there were already hundreds there to volunteer. Ended up taking a group of very scared students out for lunch, then went home.
All I can say is, as a native of Pa., I'll take blizzards and ice over tornadoes anytime.

Joe one of my cousins goes to Union. Her parents went and got her to bring her home for a while. I am amazed that with all the damage no one was killed there. My cousin , her grandmother sent me pictures . I will take earthquakes here anytime.

I'll take a hurricane over a tornado too because there are often several days or longer of notice that one may be coming. That gives time to prepare.
That said, a hurrican lasts far longer. The longest one I ever experienced was Francis in 2004 which seemed to hang around for two days of misery and anxiety. Wilma in 2005 took our lights away for two weeks and my son lost his lights close to a month! Man, do you appreciate modern conveniences when something like that happens!

Flyover country won't avoid earthquakes. When New Madrid really moves again, it will kick the tail of anything that might happen on the west coast.

The New Madrid Fault is of serious importance only to St. Louis and Memphis and the History Channel.

Yes, Ole , a major one , Buildings in Charleston have stars on the outside of the buildings that are actually bolts that are attached to rods that bolt the house together . it did happen about a hundred years ago but who knows when another one will hit. . . .
