Wow, I didn't know this part of the board existed! I've been chatting only. Glad to see so much talent here! I come from Queens, NY (had a great history teacher) that made me fall in love with history and especially the CW. I joined the army in 81, stayed in till 91, and now live in PA. I have been reading books for years on the war, and have been living in this mid-Atlantic region since 91. (so, I've hit most of the eastern theatre battle-fields). Looking forward to some lively discussions!

Welcome Secret Squirrel!! OK, now I'm lost.....I been comming to the Discussion Board, but didn't know there was a chat section! Where's it at, how do I get there and are people on at various times or only certain times? (I can only chat Tues & Thurs during the day, as I'm at work in a different office then) Thanks! Albert here is the information about the chat room. It says book chats , we have those too but go to this link http://www.civilwarhome.com/bookchats.htm scroll down to the bottom of that page it tells you how to register. Register and then you will be notified to start chatting . Many of the people you have posted to here are on line at various times of the day and night to chat . Susan

Albert - I was a little confused about that myself. I just assumed that what he meant was that he's been chatting at Civil War Home Chat Room (which CWi used to own), and didn't realize that this Discussion Board existed. On the chat room, they often refer to this board as "Y.O.D.B." (Ye Old Discussion Board). I could be wrong, but that's my guess. BTW, it's a great chat room, run by Shotgun, and I'd encourage you to join! Either way, welcome to Secret Squirrel...

Javal we must have been typing at the same time. I didn't realize how hard it was to find the registration part of the chatroom . Took me forever to figure out it is at the bottom of the bookchat. It's been over a year since I joined over there and have forgotten how to register . Hope I posted the right information for Albert. I am sure SS thought they were both one and the same board as so many of us go back and forth between the two and all of us were talking about this board over on Shotguns chat room Hope things are well in Tennessee. We actually had RAIN in California . Susan

Secret Squirrel... welcome but I have to admit the squirrel moniker has me worried. I worry every time I see squirrels moving in that effec`tive 2 x 2 cover formation. I guess we know who really rules the human race... it ain't the mice.

How long does it take for the aforementioned chatroom to send an e-mail validation so I can log in and chat? I registered nearly 3 hours ago, and have gotten no confirmation, nor can I log in. Any ideas?

Albert, Just guessing here, but I know Shotgun has a daytime job, so maybe he has to wait till he gets home. If you don't hear anything by 7 or 8 o'clock, post here again and I'll drop him an e-mail for you. BTW, if your e-mail has a spam filter, try checking your junk mail folder to be sure it didn't mistakenly get tagged as spam.

Albert it takes a while. Ks. or Shotgun have to check the email and then send a confirmation. Ks is really swamped right now so may take a while . But like Javal said try again this evening . Susan
