Good morning Just new from Findlay, Ohio where I have lived for 18 months. I have had an interest in the CW ever since I visited Gettysburg at age 10. I love to visit CW battle sites w/my wife (who is also a CW buff), collect books, prints, and just about anything CW related that I can afford which isn't much these days. I have an interest in battlefield preservation and try to be politically incorrect when it comes to the Confederate flag, even though I am a northener. SJH

Welcome, sjh. This is great place to exchange opinions and get acquainted with others who share your passion. Is there a Civil War Round Table in your area? You might consider going to a meeting. You can meet others, hear excellent speakers, participate in activities. Our Bull Run RT in Centreville, VA, has a monthly newsletter and day trips to significant sites within 2 hrs. drive. We're also active in preservation of battlefields, fortifications, and camp sites. There isn't much left here in Fairfax County. You're sure to find topics in here that will keep you coming back for more. Patty

Greetings, SJH. If you're not averse to driving up to Toledo, we have a CWRT of which I just happen to be the president. Our website is http://www.angelfire.com/oh4/civwar/gtcwrt/index.html I believe there was another recently formed CWRT in the area, but at the moment I'm drawing a blank as to where exactly it is at. Kathy Thanks for the invitation. I will consider the CWRT as soon as we finish some travel over the next few weeks for the holidays. Thanks also for the link to the website. I checked it out and it really looks great. SJH
