Ole, Chittlins, despite the smell, are tastey....every once in a while, you find a "bonus" in a one, in the form of a piece of corn, a grass-hopper, etc!!

Ed, Red rice and beans, real cornbread and buttermilk. I am with you . Only thing better is if that cornbread is in the form of a hoe cake. Yummy. Nothing better than a piece of real cornbread and glass of butter milk , except for a couple of fried in a cast iron skillet hoe cakes and buttermilk. I'm packing too, will take me a little longer from the west coast. Now look what Regina started!!!!!!

My mama always took cold cornbread and crumbled it in her buttermilk. I have done it too . Now I want some corn bread.

What you just described in Acadiana is called Cous Cous, the original fast food. I think my grandfather ate that for lunch just about every day.
