Dude, M*A*S*H is by far the greatest TV series/movie ever. The series finale, "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen", is the only TV episode to ever bring me to tears. My friends and family call me Hawkeye due to my affection for this show. Thousands of people visit the site every year to reconnect with this awesome show. My only regret is that I live on the complete opposite side of the country, and wasn't there to witness this event myself. This show and its filming site deserve their place not only in the annals of television history but in the hearts of millions. The show served to bring the cruel realities of war into the living rooms of Americans. And while the show was a complete work of fiction, it was based in cold hard fact. It is a reminder of how pointless war is, in all its forms.

Bama this is Los Angeles home of the movies . There are many sites in L.A. that go back to the early days of movies. Many have been of course torn down, with just markers that say Max Sennett's studio was on this site. etc. Malibu Mountains where the show MASH was film is already a perserved site so this just adds to the area that is a natural wild life area. MASH also still has the most watched final episode of any show. Susan

All In The Family just because it was the first prime time show to pit 2 generations against one another. While in high school and college called my dad who was the president of a local bank Sam, aka Uncle Sam. For those who read Greening of America, you can relate to this monicer. Too many good shows to mention here, but I liked "Combat", "Get Smart", "The Monkees", "Man From UNCLE", and "Twilight Zone". And, of course "The Rebel" with Nick Adams.

Bama , not a national historical site. Well the Mountains are National Recreational Area . From a news article it appears they will set up signs at the site of the set and eventually have camping there in MASH type tents. Apparently this area has been used since the silent days as a movie site. Susan

All right, here I go. My favorite all-time TV shows? I'll probably change my mind down the road, but off the top of my head I'd have to say Star Trek, aka, Classic Trek, with Kirk, Spock and McCoy -- Live long and prosper! The Outer Limits -- again, the original, not the revised 1995 series. The Twilight Zone -- anybody remember "To Serve Man"? Dark Shadows -- I ran home from school to watch that show and had a terrible crush on Barnabas Collins And, on a more modern note, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

sorry double post. there are so many Twilight Zones I remember . The orignial had such good shows. I use to make my younger brother watch them with me so I wouldn't be scared. I was still scared. Twilight Zone...classic show!!! Anyone remember the Civ War episode where they find the town full of motionless union soldiers and the confederates debate whether or not to use black magic to win the war?? Awesome episode...I think the last line was something like "If the Confederacy must die, let it be buried in consecrated ground.." And there was the one about the wife waiting for her confederate husband to return and at the end she meets Lincoln coming down the road??? "The last casualty of the Civil War." And who could forget "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"?

Another show I used to watch way back when was One Step Beyond. It was on the order of Twilight Zone, but not quite. The stories were supposedly based on real incidents dealing with the occult and supernatural -- hauntings and the like. It was hosted by John Newland. Recently, I picked up a few of the episodes on some bargain DVDs, and found there were a couple of Civil War stories mixed in. One was "The Day the World Wept", about the Lincoln assassination. And then there was one called "The Executioner," about a young Confederate soldier who's captured by a sadistic Yankee colonel and saved by a phantom dog.

Another show I never missed that scared the living daylights out of me. There was one my brother and I were watching that was so scary he was on the phone with his girl friend while she watched it trying to keep both me and his girlfield calm while we watched it . Now I think back that was funny as we both should have just turned it off. I have a bargin dvd I got at the 99 cent store. I will have to look and see what is on mine. I haven't watched it yet. Susan
