Hello all...I still think that Sid Meier's collection (Gettysburg, Antietam, South Mountain) are the best Civil War games ever made. Not only are they very fun, but you dont need a high end computer to play them!!!
No argument that Sid made some great CW games. So far I've only seen 2 come close - Take Command and the new one just released, Forge of Freedom. Problem is, FoF, which was released about a week ago, while a great game, has some very major bugs. They released a patch today to fix the worst one, but others remain. Once they're fixed though, it's going to be fantastic. We're writing a review of it now, but in the meantime, try Take Command. Great game - here's our review. And welcome to the board!
Thanks for the welcome FoF looks incredible! However, I am about 5 years behind the time technology wise...It's a darn shame too! It looks like a game I would most likely love! I have played the Gettysburg game that came out a couple years back. My 7 year old son loves it. But the game is a bit cheezy. Excellent review by the way. Very in depth. I'm trying to do some research for a possible book on the PA Bucktails. Can you point to any online resources that may be helpful in such an endeavor???
