The book swap is a new member-to-member section designed to facilitate the trading of books between Discussion Board members. Below are some rules and tips:

1) Keep in mind these are permanent trades, not loans.

2) CWi is in no way responsible for books lost in the mail, books promised but not sent, or any other aspect of the program. This board is simply facilitating transactions between members. Use you own judgement on which members to trade with.

3) Never, never, never post your contact information (e-mail address, postal address, phone number, etc.) on the public board. Always use PM's to facilitate the trading of contact info.

4) The book swap is open for all genres of books - Civil War, other history, politics, current affairs, etc.

5) Once the book swap is open, each member wishing to participate should open a new thread. That thread should be titled "*insert you username here* Books". For example, if I would open a thread it would be called "javal1's Books". Always make the first post in your thread a list of books you are currently willing to trade. If you trade a book, go back to your first post, click edit and delete that book. You can also use the edit button to add new books to your list. In the same post, following the list of books, write a short paragraph explaining what type of books your willing to accept in trade.

Below is a sample listing:

"Gettysburg: The Second Day" by Harry Pfanz (HC)(Good condition)

"A Soldier to the Last: Maj. Gen. Joseph Wheeler in Blue and Gray" by Edward Longacre (PB)(Good condition)

_________________________________

I will trade for books on colonial America, post-1920 history, politics, or current affairs. No fiction or Civil War books please.

Notice the two items in parenthesis. Specify whether it is hard cover (HC) or paperback (PB). Also a general note on condition. For simplicity, we'll use "New" (could be a duplicate, a gift you weren't interested in reading, etc.), "Good" (normal wear and tear), and "Poor" (heavy dog-earring of pages, possible pages missing, very loose binding, etc). It is not necessary to post descriptions of what the book is about. Interested parties can easily copy and paste the title into Google and get that.

6) All questions/offers concerning a member's books should be addressed within that members thread.

We think that covers the basics. It all sounds more complicated than it is. This program may take off, it may not. Worth taking a chance. Have fun with it. Please direct any questions to the "General question" thread. Thanks folks.
