It is interesting to note that St Abraham is regularly used as the precident for ignoring the constitution when it suits our chief executives.

Yes, Lincoln is regularly used as the precedent by Lost Causers. I strongly suspect that similar infractions can be found to have been attempted by several of the previous fifteen administrations.
