"The lieutenant has a "Mona Lisa stare," not a Mona Lisa smile but a mysterious Mona Lisa stare. The more one looks at his countenance, the more wonders what the heck is going on in his head.:D"

Thank You, Fan,

That sums it up for me.  And that is now my official reason for endlessly studying him.

Bama, I like your thoughts, too.  Maybe that is why I had my initial intense reaction, the determination/strong character in his face.  So, I hope you weren't joking there, as I fur sure considered it and it is working for me.....

Joanie

(As for the looking for his horse thing, well, at least he's doing it in style, LOL!)

Joanie-

Maybe hes just a bit irritable because he had to take the: "blue mass", and hes waiting for it to work.   Now he sees that the yankees are coming at a most inconvenient time.

Actually I think the look is one of... "That prick wants me to post my section where?" or "Oh dear... that's exactly where I would have placed a battery if I was about to do some counterbattery on ME!!!!!"

If that were the case, wouldn't he have loosened that thong-thingy between his legs by now?  Come to think of it, the seat of his pants is suspiciously clean for a soldier of this era... ;):D

Girl you need help; just tackle your husband or appropriate pet human and put him to work. I can't believe I've just heard a sword belt referred to in a sexual manner... does that mean I'm getting old?

CURSE YOU JOANIE!!!!!!

Scrub, scrub, scrub... flush.

Pardon me while I wash my mind it appears to be... dirty.

I was not referring to the sword....er, belt, in a sexual manner, Johann. Although I'm sure that if you would like me to, I could...er, and perhaps just did.

I was simply concerned that it might become most unpleasantly soiled (taking into consideration the maladies of the time), and in studying it, happened to notice the cut of the pants....

Roger should be quite pleased that his soldier has led us all to such thorough study and speculation: we have considered his clothes, his face, his aspect, his expression, his accessories, the cut of his pants....along with speculating on his thoughts, frame of mind, and physical health. In other words, this piece of art represents the total, er,ah, package....

Sorry!!!! (Bad Joanie, No Cookie!)

I think Roger appreciates our apreciation of his work.

Just as an FYI Joanie in college I made some pretty decent $ painting minies for people... I will always remember being handed some rather risque metal & resin miniatures to paint @ $20 per. My ladyfriend at the time, who was sitting next to me, busted out laughing. Apparently when I opened the box to look at the minies I turned about four shades of pink. Lets just say they were minies where clothing was wholly optional. To be honest though the $200 or so I made for those minies paid some bills.

So Joanie, no cookie... just put away the candy. ;)

I just want to add for Roger that this miniature is outstanding. As I said it is better than my best work and coming from a fella who spent a lot of years painting minis & getting paid to do so I hope that meas something.

It takes a LOT of work to come up w/ this kind of quality paintjob and any artists appreciates the wonder and appreciation in those who admire it.

Roger, thank you very much for sharing such fine work w/ us... even if the ladies do get a bit goofy in their appreciation. :)

Ahhhhhh.....Thank you, Younglobo!  I LOVE goofy, and am seriously (see my joke? goofy and serious together?) happy to be cited as such!

Johann, do you still do your mini's?  As artwork, these are new to me, and I am quite taken with them!  Would you consider posting some of yours?

Thank you,

Joanie

Back in my USAF time I did scratchbuilt female pilot for a B-52 pilot. I'll look to see if I can find a pic of that & scan it in but God in heaven only knows when that will be.

I did a lot of diorama terrain building to; miniature railroads are a very similar hobby w/ some people being outright fanatical about the detail. i did up a pair of WWII tanks for a scene where they were being loaded from the factory onto flat cars. I ended up losing money because I had to repain them w/ a 1941 paint sceme instead of a 1944 one.

Joanie, here are some figs of Tourist store quality IMO, we bought as a gift for our surgeon.  I built the diorama around them.  Everything from the structure, canvas down to the rickety table w/ poncho.
