Does anybody publish a Civil War calendar, preferably with one page for each month and Civil War "trivia" for each date? What I have in mind is something like the attractive and large calendars sold at book stores such as Barnes and Noble or Borders. Perhaps the large photo for each month could be a Civil War battlefield scene such as the Burnside Bridge at Antietam or Devil's Den at Gettysburg. Or it could be a famous painting or actual photograph from the Civil War. Or maybe each page could feature a general.
Failing that does anybody publish one of those small day-by-day desk calendars that has a Civil War quote or factoid for each day?

I just got The Civil War Andrew McMeel Publishing which is a day by day tear off desk calendar. I also saw a Calender by Mort Kunsler (Sp?) that has one of his paintings on each month. One is a Cleburne print. I have it on my Christmas list. I got this one and saw the other one at Boarders Books in California .

Just to add, The Library of Congress has a Civil War Calendar that comes out every year, and features the tidbits and other information on the Civil War. There is also an annual calendar that features the CW photographs of Matthew Brady.
I usually get one of the Kuntsler Calendars here, and they are available at his website, which is

Thank you both for your quick replies. Every calandar you both mentioned appeal to me. It wouldn't hurt to have more than one, after all. Again I really appreciate your responses.

I've already ordered the day by day desk calendar at calendars.com. What could be better than some Civil War "trivia" every single day! Actually, nothing about the Civil War is trivial, so I need a better word. Factoids?
That web site had several tempting Civil War calendars. I could have one in EVERY room, I suppose. I mean, you really should know the date at all times, right?

The Luminary at Antietam National Battlefield was last Saturday. The official photographer has a website with calendars, posters, note cards, etc., all of Antietam. The best is a slide show. Click the "Link to Slide Show," it installs a program. When the show starts, right-click to expand to a full screen display. The most breathtakingly beautiful pictures I ever saw.

Thanks Patty, I was meaning to ask you how that went. I was so jealous that I am in Huntington Beach on the left coast and couldn't be there to see if for myself.
