 My wife is on my back about getting a gun safe. Says she is tired of closing a door and finding a gun behind it.... good Lord, where else would you put one?

At any rate, the only place I have for one is upstairs ( house is 25 yrs old) and the ones I have found are 500 to 550 pounds in a compact safe footprint. Anyone know if it is safe to put that much weight on a typical house floor?
