 We were staying in Vicksburg and drove down the Trace to Nachez as a side trip. I have been there many times, but not in years..since I was a teenager (I mean a REALLY long time!)
I have a number of college friends, actually Literary Society Brothers, who have been my closest friends for more than 45 years. Now that our children are grown and gone, we take a CW battlefield trip every year.. read all winter, and argue like hell on the trip about who did what to whom and why... make crazy bets, the medium of exchange is a bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon which we then consume amongst cigar smoke and more arguments.. GREAT Fun!... Anyway, I love showing them my part of the country and they love being there..
We found a little country catfish place on the outskirts of Vicksburg.... Ah!..heaven...I even eat catfish for breakfast on these trips!
