 Researchers looking for photograph sources re: North Carolina soldiers should check the following four resources:

Walter Clark's 5 volume work Histories of the Several Regiments....from North Carolina .... These volumes contain photographs of many of the regimental officers.

Manerin and Jordan's 16-voumes of North Carolina Troops, A
Roster. These volumes contains scattered photographs of N. C. soldiers.

Indexes of the following two volumes should lbe checked:

Richard B. McCaslin. Portraits of Conflict. A Photographic History of North Caorlina in th Civil War.

Greg Mast. State Troops and Volunteers. A Photogrphic Record of North Carolina;s Civil War Soldiers, Vol. 1
