The majority of the board seemed to follow Council President Ted StreeterĂs rationale that the borough faced four scenarios:
4 if the council votes not to support the casino and the casino does not materialize, we have lost nothing;
4 if the council votes in favor of the casino and the casino does not materialize, we have still lost nothing;
4 if the council votes not to support the casino and the casino does materialize, we have severely jeopardized our chances of any meaningful share of the revenues; but lastly,
4 if the council votes in favor of the casino and the casino does materialize, the Borough of Gettysburg is virtually guaranteed access to a minimum of $1 million per year.
"In my mind, that leads to only one logical conclusion," Streeter said. |
Losing nothing?
How about losing your jobs? That might be the real logical conclusion.
