 Best Civil War movie - "The Horse Soldiers" with John Wayne. 

Best War movie ever - "Saving Private Ryan."

Best scene in a war movie - the landing on the beach at Normandy in "Saving Private Ryan."  Saw it again last night for the fifth or sixth time and I still break out in a sweat watching it.
