Bama it still would be exciting to come to Shiloh by boat either way up river or down. While reading Cunningham's book for a book group this month one of the members told all of us his ancestor was killed during the fighting near the church. He has never been to Shiloh . He said reading the book helped him understand what it was like for the ancestor. This was a Confederate ancestor. Then while we were discussing the battle one of the others said her Union ancestor was there too. Made the whole discussion very personal for all of us. Susan
