Chicamauga is the battlefield I visited last summer on my annual battlefield trip. It is a magnificient place. I would rank it jsut slightly below Shiloh and that for me says a lot. One thing you must keep in mind when studying Chicamauga, is that it was not an officers fight. the terrain was so wooded and so close that there was no one who could get "the big picture". Decisions were made at the most basic level that decided the outcome of the battle...Gen Polk being Pokey not withstanding!

we stayed in Ringgold Ga, and had the luxury of seeing Ringgold Gap, the place wher eGen Cleborne held off the union army while the Conferates made their escape..we also went to Dalton and on down to Kennesaw Mountain. Wonderful week..
