Great Site..
My father was a USAAF pilot, flying the P-39D Bell Aircobra, and later transitioning to the B-29. His claim to fame was that he was flying aircover in a B-29 over Tokyo Bay while the treaty was being signed on the USS Missouri down below. He always maintained that the greatest feat of that day was that no aircraft collided as he said a person could have walked accross Tokyo Bay that day, wingtip to wingtip

He went to be with his comrades about 22 years ago.
