Doc thing about Animals San Francisco Nights is we who lived in California knew they didn't know San Francisco very well.  They sang about WARM San Francisco nights.  Never happens in the City.   I did like the song anyway though .  Also House of the Rising Sun.   I have so many verisions of it now but do like the Animals verision.

Think I forgot to include anything Janis did in my list.  I saw her several times even free in the park once.  She was good singing for free , as good or better than she had been the night before when I paid to see her and Big Brother.   There is no one else like her .

Gram Parsons was also great in all the bands he was in.  Saw him live in a small folk club in L.A. with Flying Burrito Brothers.   he changed the whole sound of the Byrds when he joined the group.  Love Sweetheart of the Rodeo.
