26th N.C, As you stated: Certain groups have tarnished what the battle flag symbolizes, this does not make the flag a symbol of racism. The flag in and of itself is not a symbol of racism only the abuse of the flag. The flag does symbolize the brave and honorable men and women who died fighting under it for what they believed in.
