You are mistaken ..Dan Rather was the anchor at KPRC TV in Houston. He made his name as the reporter who went to the lighthouse on Galveston Island to report on the progress of Hurricane Carla in 1962.. I lived in Houston at the time and remember quite well that event. he and the camraman were the only 2 people on Galveston island during the Huricane..He got a national appointment..the cameraman got overtime!
