I come to Southern Florida every year to fish. I have a friend that lives in Miami and I love the Keys. If I weren't so partial to my hometown I would move down there in a heartbeat. I always wondered about the Civil War naval history of Key West. I haven't gotten that far down the keys yet on my visits. I hope to before long though.
By the way, why isn't there a thread on Civil War Navies on this forum. That is one of my favorite aspects of the war but I don't know that much about it. I would love to learn from others. I noticed Hamy3 has one of the Yankee Mississippi ironclads as his avatar. Maybe there would be enough interest in a navy thread.
