 Iron Brigade and Irish Brigade overrated? Seems to me that you failed to take into account the contemporary writings of their adversaries.

I think the issue is that they were in a limited amount of engagements due to their willingness to face the enemy head on and absorbing tremendous casualties in a time in which regiments were not re-staffed but allowed to dwindle due to attrition.
