The performance by the Stonewall Brigade and the Iron Brigade at Second Manassas warrants all the praise that they get. To that I'd add the Iron Brigade's action at Gettysburg on the first day was about as heroic as you'll find of any unit. After Gettysburg, the Iron Brigade basically ceased to exist due to the losses they suffered. Overrated? Not in my book!! Doug Last edited on Wed May 3rd, 2006 06:25 pm by Hamy3 |
