Ole, I agree. The United States or American Civil War is what it is called in most text books and books on the subject. Is it accurate? Not really , There was nothing Civil About it . Other names are regional. Southern names for the WAR and Northern names for the WAR . As Johan said Lee called it the Civil War . It if was good enough For Robert E. Lee it is good enough for me. We pass out a list to visitors at the Drum of names the War was called. It is a long list. I think it is more important to discuss what happened in the War , than to argue or debate back and forth what to call it . It's like what do you call that bubbly brown liquid fro Atlanta ? Depends on where you live. I call it Coke. Susan
