Welcome 88th, have you ever been to Andersonville? If not, with your connection you really need to go. It is definitelty an eye-opening experience. As interesting and great are the famous Civil War photos of the camp, they do not give you a good perspective of the lay of the land. Seeing it in person had a "wow" factor for me and explains why the Raiders and other hooligans dominated the north end of the camp.
