 The standard airwing complement for that time would have been:

2 F-4 Phantom squadrons (VF)

2 A-7 Squadrons (VA)

1 A-6 squadron (VA)

1 EA6 squadron (VAQ)

1 S-2 squadron(prop driven VS anti-submarine)

1 H-3 squadron (Helicopter ASW)

and possibly

1 RA-5 vigilante SQuadron for fast recon
