Thanks, Doc C for starting this. I plan on going to Gettysburg at the end of September, when the Cyclorama painting will open up again. In the meantime, I would be very interested in what people are thinking of the new Visitor Center. Obviously, from the news stories Joe has posted and from other first hand accounts, there seems to be a problem with parking. I have also heard complaints about the distance from the VC to the town. These probably won't concern me too much, as I love to walk the battlefields, but I'm interested in what others think.

Also, I know that the store is now run by a company called Event Network. I believe this is the first "for profit" organization to run a NPS bookstore, as compared to the "non-profit associations" that run the others. That is probably why there is more souvenir type stuff.

In any case, as more people visit Gettysburg, and for that matter, any of the other NPS book stores, I would love to hear their opinions.
