Susan, We are the same age..year or so +-, and I remember the years of my misspent youth riding the trains pre Amtrak. those were heady days and I loved trains...beat the he## outta the bus. I remember catching a train out of Corinth,Miss. one evening and needing to change trains to get to Central IL. About 12:30 AM or so, the conductor woke me. put me off the train in the middle of nowhere at a siding and said not to move, that my train would be along "directly". I stood there and in a little while, a train pulls up, a conductor gets off and places the little step so I could climb onboard.. and off we went.. I have no idea where we were, probably somewhere in Tennessee, maybe even Arkansas, but it sure wasn't at a station. I tell people that story and I get looks like I must be halucinating.. Ed
