There is a book that was rather long for any kid around that age but a real easy read. I cant remeber its name but I it was about a kid who enlisted when he was twelve in a confedearte regiment form Richmond. He lived there and all that. Towards the end you find out that at the Battle of Fredericksburg he finds a little girl in a destroyed house her ma and pa were dead. So she kept to him and he decied to go back home and leave her at Richmond with his father and step mother. there was a prequel to this as well about the John Brown Trial cause him and his father were kept prisoner by John Brown during his raid and something about him and his cousins argueing about the war. Also do you think he might want to listen to an Audio Book?
