 I think it breaks down to stereotypes. Redneck jokes can be funny..to a point.
When the butt of the joke is constantly portrayed as a semilitterate,bucktoothed bufoon who wants to lay around flea ridden dogs, and has a battleflag in his pickup window to remine everyone he is a southerner,etc etc... you get the point...the jokes lose their humor
