If he hadn't been wounded, I believe he'd have assaulted the retreat instead of just watching the remnants of Pickett's troops retire back down the ridge. And I can only wonder how he'd have reacted to Meade's decision to allow the AoNV to slide back over the Potomac unhindered. I don't agree, but there is that possibility. ole
