I find it facinating that all this talk about America focuses on the south. In the 1960's in Jacksonville, Illinois, there was a black member of the local high school football team. They played an away game at a neighboring towb and after the game, went for refreshments of some kind. The black kid was refused admission right here in Central, Il in the enlighteded 1960's.... so, tell me, are some folks in the enlighteded wonderful north just maybe a tad hypocritical? How do I know of this story? I have a friend who played in that game and described it to me a year after it happened. Furthermore, a year or so ago, the black fellow was interviewed for a "where are they now" sort of article. He recounted the story and I read it in the paper.
