 It has none of the romanticism or glory of an open stand up fight. In other words, trench battles just aren't sexy.
And in that, Duke, I think you've captured the essence. The fight is exciting when both are fresh and standing. It get's dull when the action slows to an occasional scrap, however fierce. No glory in mud rassling.
