I usually do not respond when someone speaks to me as you did, however if you wish to hold a nasty discussion I will gladly use private messages where nasty belongs.
Nasty? If asking someone if they are being intentionally intellectually dishonest or ignorant is about as bad as it gets, you're probably in good shape.
Everyone is ignorant on a lot of things. I'm ignorant as to what the capitals of Ghana or Sri Lanka are. I couldn't tell you who discovered plutonium or who's most responsible for inventing the computer. I'm ignorant of all those things, and more. No big deal.
But as to not offend anyone in the future, I'll refrain from using such 'nasty' terminology.
