My mothers uncle went to school with Jimmie Foxx in fact he was the school photographer. Before he died he showed me some pictures he took and one was an old school picture with Foxx and some other school mates.
Speaking of Gettysburg and baseball, Hall of Fame pitcher Eddie Plank was born in Gettysburg.
