If it isn't, you have done very well to take such an intense interest in the Civil War, especially given your youth. Keep up the good work. One of the books I would recommend you read is Noah Andre Trudeau's "Gettysburg: A Testing of Courage". There are other far more detailed and exhaustive books on the Gettysburg such as Coddington's "Gettysburg Campaign: A Study in Command" but Trudeau's makes an excellent introduction and will undoubtedly answer many of your questions about the battle, its run-up and its aftermath.
