 I love American Pie because I am old enough to remember the day the music died.  I know where I was when it was annouced on the radio. 

I grew up listening to Ballad of Casey Jones and Ballad of Jesse James.  Always liked them. 

Old English Ballads are favorites too I was a died in the wool folkie in the 60's  Sir Patrick Spense, Barbara Allen,

Modern Ballads The Ballad of Edward Abby by Tom Russell is a real favorite.
