 The Everything Civil War Book by Donald Vaughan lists and interesting regimental name in Chapter 6 page 171
 
This chapter is a discussion of muskets and rifles and the need to alter donated weapons for issue to new troops.
 
"Thomas Riggins, who owned a gun repair shop in Knoxville, Tennessee employed 60 assistants, working night and day to convert donated rifles and flintlocks into percussion carbines for a volunteer cavalry regiment known as the East Tennessee Squirrel Shooters.”
