This book, by William Clark Griggs, focuses on Frank McMullan's post war Confederte colony in Brazil. The 152 person colony was short lived, but they left a mark on Brazil, including the fact that the Texans in the colony introduced the mouldboard plow into Brazil, which had a huge impact on Brazilian agriculture. Another Confederate impact on Brazil was the introduction of the Baptist Religion in Brazil, Baptists became the largest Protestant denomination in Brazil. I found it an interesting and worthwhile read, sort of an epilogue to the Civil War. Very well researched and with extensive end notes. Regards, Dave Gorski
