Hello all, I was wondering of anyone is aware of any higher-ranking officers of the Civil War who "switched sides" partway through the war? Not at the start, resigning from the US Army to join the CSA, such as Lee or Pemberton, but somewhere in the course of the war? Would that have been allowed? Would the "other side" want an officer who was, in essence, a turncoat, even if he pledged loyalty? Just thinking. Pam
