 At the urging of the historian for the movie Gods and Generals I purchased the DVD.  Big mistake.  It is slow.  It is long.  I have watched it three times (I keep hoping it will get better.)  Each time I find myself muttering: "this is terrible."

The scene of Jackson on his deathbed is not sad.  It is sappy.  NPS historian Frank O'Reilly does a far better job in his minute by minute narrative of the death of Jackson.
