I don't think it matters at all where you live. I live in Southern California and have friends who are Daughters and Sons of Union and Confederate Vets. Members of both groups dislike the movie. Matter of fact the woman who first said to me the only good part of the movie was the opening Scene is a UDC and president of the Confederate Rose. So that blows that theory away.
