Susan, I don't think the movies are totally worthless. I know that as a young lad of about 9 I went to see Gettysburg in the theaters with my Dad. I was absolutely facinated and immediately after began learning everything I could about the war. Ultimately, Gettysburg is the reason I am working toward my PhD in American history. Now, I like to think that I am well read enough to understand the problems with the portrayal of Gettysburg and Gods and Generals on film, but everyone needs a spark that starts their passion for the ACW. That spark for me was a flawed movie. Cheers! -Mark
