it's not like they are fiction Seems to me I find them in the fiction section of the bookstore and library. That would make them FICTION. Yes they use historical events as background for the story but they are very much fiction. Some more than others. The movies are even more fiction than the books . The movie Gone with the Wind is different in many ways from the novel. Novel=fiction. If they got you interested in the Civil War this is a good thing. BUT after the orginal interest it is best to read NONficition biographies, battle books etc to find out what happened .
