It doesn't matter how good the acting or the directing is, if you have a movie about war then it has to be about the war. Confederate officers singing hymns with that southern family and ridiculous monlogues does not fit into a "war" movie. The next Civil War movie should be about the enlisted men struggling through the war and showing there hardships. That is why Battleground is one of my favorite movies because it is about a group of soldiers struggling through the hardships of the Battle of the Bulge in harsh conditions not officers at some party trying to impress generals.
